I am an architect based in Kyoto. When designing a house, the most important thing to consider is ventilation. Thinking about ventilation means creating a “layout for air.” We consider how to naturally and easily circulate air throughout the house, creating this “layout for air.” If this is achieved successfully, it will surely result in a good house. A well-ventilated house feels different in terms of physical sensation. A house that feels good in this way is like comfortable everyday clothing that never gets old or uncomfortable. We strive to design houses that feel like comfortable everyday clothes – homes that are comfortable, never cause any discomfort, and will never get old.
